Surfaces

The fifth wall.

Most homes have one ceiling color: white. I think that’s a missed opportunity. Surfaces brings pattern, texture and color to the places nobody expects, starting with the one everyone forgets to look up at.

A look we can create

Builder-grade homes are finished in flat paint and good intentions. Surfaces changes that, one wall, ceiling or stair at a time. Every paper, tile and finish comes from a maker or artist I’ve chosen, and every installation is done by trades I trust.

What we do

Where it goes

  • Ceilings
  • Powder rooms
  • Entries
  • Stair risers
  • Closets
  • Bookshelf backs
  • Laundry rooms
  • Door panels
  • Fireplace surrounds
  • Ceilings again (it bears repeating)

The Library

Papers, tiles and finishes.

A few of the patterns I keep coming back to. At your walk-through you’ll see and touch the real thing.

How it works

  1. Step 1: The walk-through.

I look for the surfaces that are quietly doing nothing.

  2. Step 2: The samples.

You see and touch real paper, tile and plaster samples in your own light, not on a screen.

  3. Step 3: One clear price.

Materials, prep and installation in a single number.

  4. Step 4: The install.

Our trades handle prep, hanging, tiling and finishing. You come home to it done.

Start with the ceiling.

Tell me a little about your home, and I’ll bring samples to your walk-through.
